How To Make Your New Business Idea Succeed

How To Make Your New Business Idea Succeed

Research has shown that more than 90% of small businesses don’t succeed within the new business ideasfirst five years of getting started. This includes both offline and online business, from flower shops in your local town to online entrepreneurs wanting to earn a living from the internet.

The first five years can be tough for any entrepreneur with a new business idea.  The fundamental elements of where to find customers, what products or services to sell and how much to charge can take a lot of time to get right.

So, how do you make your new business ideas succeed?

1. Who is your ideal customer?

You may have lots of good new business ideas but your first step is to know who your ideal customer is. If you don’t know who you are selling to, how can you sell it to them? This is not as complicated as it might sound. For example, are they male or female, or does their gender matter? How old are they, where do they live and what is their income? The more you know about your potential customer, the easier it will be for you to tailor your marketing messages to appeal them.

2. What do your customers want?

People buy what they want before they buy what they need. They buy with emotion and justify their decision with logic. Selling a ‘want’ is easier then selling a ‘need’. Take a moment to think about what you own. What have bought based on pure logic rather than what you wanted, could afford and what suited your self-image?

3. Who is your competition?

New small business ideas can often mean launching into a competitive market. You have to know how your customers are buying the type of product or service that you intend to offer with your business and who they are buying it from. You cannot ignore or copy what your competitors are doing. You need a distinctive strategy to give customers a reason to buy from you, rather than from somebody else. Often the key to being different can just be having the passion to help your customers more than your competitors, rather than, say, being technically superior to a competitor.

4. Can your new business idea reach potential customers?

It is important that you know how to reach your target audience before you start with a new business idea. Some specific niche markets appear very lucrative at first but end up being so difficult to reach that success becomes unlikely.

5. Can you afford to get started?

You do have to consider the cost for starting a new business. Knowing the real numbers can sometimes be overwhelming and can makes success look too far away and perhaps impossible to reach. You need to carefully plan your outgoings and match them with your incomings. As each changes you will have to adjust so that you don’t ‘boom and bust’ or just go bust.

New business ideas for 2013 and beyond require investment. Remember, that it is a business and not a hobby. For your business to succeed you do need to be able to spend some money on things like a website, marketing and other resources to help you.

6. Is this business idea scalable?

You have to make sure make sure your business can grow the way you want it to. As your new business idea becomes a reality, will you need more resources to help you? Are you able to invest in automated software that can do some of the work for you? You only have 24 hours in each day and it is not physically possible to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – even if you wanted to! If you are the only person that can operate or manage your business, you have to adapt if you want to scale it up.

7. Are you willing to work hard?

There is no such thing as a get rich quick scheme. Starting a new business requires hard work and it does take time to build it up. You have to be passionate about your business and actually enjoy doing it. If you don’t, you may stat to resent the hours and works that you are putting in and give it all up – perhaps just as you were on the brink of success…

8. Are you willing to learn?

If you were starting a new job working for somebody else, you would expect somebody to teach you how the job and show you what you needed to do so that you could make money for your new employer – not lose any the employer money! Your new business idea should not be any different. Take time to learn from those who have gone before you as you will be able to avoid mistakes and become profitable more quickly.

Great Business Ideas

Great Business Ideas

Into today’s business world, great business ideas come from thinking about whatgreat business ideas problems you can solve for people. What are people looking for and can you provide it to them?

Modern successful entrepreneurs have become household names. Who can deny that the likes of Richard Branson, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg or Bill gates all had great business ideas that solved problems or made people’s lives easier or more enjoyable?

In business it is often said that the first person into an untapped market will have success. But what are the best business ideas for 2013? How many uptapped markets are there today and often the sheer cost of entering these markets is prohibitive.

Traditionally, great business ideas would mean great expense. The cost of a ‘bricks and mortar’ business means spending money on rents, rates, staff, equipment, inventory etc. These are all items cost money and it is often this money that has to be spent before you even start selling your product or service to your potential customers.

However, with the dawn of the ‘digital age’ and the incredible opportunity provided by the internet, new business ideas are much easier to put into action. Industry is becoming more information-intensive and less labour and capital-intensive. This means that the traditional barriers to great business ideas are being removed.

The secret of great business ideas

An online business is the best business to start up in the current economy. The secret is not to start inventing your own product or trying to take on the established businesses.  Who really wants to compete with the huge online retailers or with start-up businesses that are funded, through venture capital, with millions of dollars?

The online world of business is like the early gold-rush days of the 19th and early 20th century. In places like Australia, Brazil, Canada, South Africa, and the United States entrepreneurs would head off into the hills or the mines trying to find a few nuggets that would make them a fortune.

However, it was not the people actually looking for the gold who made their fortunes in the gold rush. More wealth was created servicing the Gold Rush than from the gold that was discovered. It was the people selling supplies and providing services to the prospectors who made the real fortunes.

Successful Business Ideas

And that is the secret to great business ideas. In other words, don’t dig for gold but sell the shovels. Don’t pan for gold, sell the pans instead. There have always been people with problems, wants, and needs. There will always be people creating solutions, products and services to meet these problems, wants and needs and these are the new business ideas  which are most likely to succeed. And, most importantly, there will always be a need for people connecting these two groups of people and these people are the merchants.

A merchant is business person who trades in products or services that were produced by others, in order to earn a profit when these are sold to somebody who wants or needs these products or services.

The modern merchant on the internet is known as an affiliate and affiliate marketing is one of the great business ideas of the modern age. The internet as a giant marketplace where people can come to buy and sell products. These products can be actual physical items or digital items that the buyer downloads. The online affiliate simply connects the buyer with the seller and gets paid a commission.

Great business ideas with affiliate marketing

Affiliate marketing is online business model where you, as a seller, promote the products or services of a merchant and get paid a commission when somebody buys the product or service from you. Affiliate marketing is a popular way for budding online entrepreneurs who are looking for great business ideas. You do not need any stock, you can sell what is currently popular and what people want and you don’t have to worry about any of the fulfilment or delivery of the product as the merchant does all this for you.

The affiliate does not create or produce the product. He doesn’t stock, ship, or service it either. In most cases, the affiliate  does not even have to create the marketing materials, or process the payment. All the affiliate does is connect the buyer with the seller and get paid a commission.

Clickbank is a digital marketplace which sells products that the buyer can download instantly. It has paid out over 2 billion dollars in commissions in the last 10 years. If you had a tiny slice of that revenue does that count as one of the great business ideas?

Your learning path to great business ideas

All of this is now possible thanks to the digital commerce. Once you have learned digital marketing as a skill-set, you will be able to write your pay cheque for life.

The reality is that most modern day affiliate marketers never make any significant money. The competition is fierce, and commissions are hard to earn.

If you want to learn all of the skills, strategies and techniques you’re going to require to become a successful digital online entrepreneur, your free training starts here.

And that’s only where it begins – not only will you have the best training available to any affiliate, you will have the opportunity to earn while you learn. Start here, if you’re looking for great business ideas

Are you happy with your business in the current economy?

We all have bad days at work. Bad weeks even. But this rubbish economy has been going on for years…

If you own or manage a traditional business (like me), you’re probably facing more and more things like:

  • Customers in ‘freeze-mode’ and not buying any of your products or services
  • Chasing payments that were due months ago
  • Cut backs on overheads, staff levels and expenditure but still having to provide the same level of service
  • Earning less money but more working hours
  • Dealing with rude clients and suppliers who have let you down
  • It goes on……

BUT, I am working on my escape route .

I have a genuine online home business system that is generating me a second income. The same system that thousands of other people are using to earn income online… and yes – PARTICULARLY in this economy

And you could be earning extra income with that same system too.

Can you have a traditional ‘9 to 5’ job and a 'work from home' business?

Having a traditional day job and running an online home business does take time but it can be done. Many people are starting online home businesses to help supplement their income. But it takes organisation, dedication, training and the great thing is that  you don’t have to give up your day job just to get started.

As with any new business starting, a home business requires a few things to get started –  seed money, products and customers.

Seed money helps you start from the ground up – you ‘sew’ a few seeds, let them grow  and then watch them bloom and start to make you money.

Getting the right  products and finding customers does not have to be hard work if you have the right training and support. I have discovered that The Six Figure Mentor system provides all the training, information and support you can ever need.

Did you know, in a recent UK survey conducted by call centre operator Arise, it found that 58% of people would take a pay cut if it meant they could work from home.
.
But why would people take a pay-cut from the regular job to work from home?  Well, there are savings to be made on expenses like petrol, parking, public transport, childcare, work clothes, unpleasant work colleagues(!) etc. Plus you can avoid a long commute and get better work/life balance.

But the real point of working from home is what? Well, I think all of the above but also:

  • To eventually earn MORE than the day job, so you can give that up.
  • Have MORE time for the things you enjoy.
  • MORE financial freedom so that you’re not relying on the monthly pay-cheque.
  • And, wouldn’t it be great if you could work from anywhere you wanted and set your own schedule?

So can you have a traditional ‘9 to 5’ job and run a work home business? Yes, if you want to and you are willing to put in a bit extra now to get a lot of reward later.

If you would like to discover a surprisingly simple way to get your online home business off to a really great start click here.
