8 Steps To Attracting High Value Customers
Your customers are the most important part of your business because without customers you don’t have a business. High value customers generally have more funds to spend on your products and services than other types of clients. It doesn’t mean those other clients are low value customers, it just means that they’re not able to pay you what you’re worth at this stage in your knowledge, experience, and expertise.
1. Build a Rock-Solid Public Image
Building an image you can be proud of, and that is solid and sticks, is an important part of marketing to high value customers. If you appear to be a high-quality person, you’re naturally going to attract higher quality people into your circle of influence. This doesn’t normally happen by accident. It happens with purposeful work toward that goal.
2. Define Your BrandÂ
Your brand is how people think of you when they see your image, your website, or something you wrote, or when they just think about you. The thing is, you’re the one who needs to define your brand, so that you can do the work it takes to ensure that your audience sees you in the way that you want them to. Do you want to be the person who gets results or the low-price person? It’s up to you.
3. Be as Visible as PossibleÂ
Build a fanbase by being as visible as you can. Host a webinar, get interviewed, write an ebook, regularly update your blog on your website, guest blog, start a Facebook Group, go to live events… Do whatever you can do to get your message and yourself out in the public view so that more people start seeing you as the go-to person in your area of expertise.
4. Be a Resource
Even your local news does stories that could use your expertise. You can also point out stories to your local news by writing a press release and sending it to them. Join HARO (Help a Reporter Out) and offer to comment on issues relating to your expertise. Comment on questions, articles, blog posts, and so forth to give your advice, opinion and recommendations.
5. Be Authentically You
It’s tempting to try to be someone else sometimes, especially when you realize that being anonymous isn’t an option. You may find that you’re comparing yourself to other professionals that you know. It can be intimidating, but if you focus on being who you are and working with your ideal clients, it will become easier.
6. Understand What You Do
It’s very important to understand very clearly what you do for your customers. Remember that what you do is the value you offer, not the product you sell or the service you provide. What you do is the results you deliver. Get that into your mind so that no matter the circumstances, you can explain what you do to anyone at any time.
7. Deliver Useful Content to Many Channels Consistently
You don’t have to blog every single day or create new content every single day either. Create valuable and useful content and share it more than once. Repurpose it into different formats to use on various channels. Use a variety that you’ve created yourself and share other useful content too. That way you’ll be seen as valuable resource.
8. Become the Go-To Expert
Focus everything on one specific niche service or product, for a very targeted audience. When you do this, you’ll become the go-to expert. For example, if you want to help authors get published, position yourself as the self-publishing expert and coach. Even if you offer other products and services, narrow down and focus on what you want to be known as.
The Easy Way To Establish Yourself As An Expert
High value client relationships often start with an eBook. First, writing your own eBook will help to establish you as an authoritative expert in your field. Secondly, authors are perceived as intelligent people. This is true whether you write an eBook or a physical book. They are respected and admired for their ability to communicate their thoughts in a way that is engaging and enjoyable for the reader. An eBook instantly positions you as an authority in your niche and will help you to attract the type of high value customers you want.
